I’m Steve Schroeder, from Conway, Arkansas. After decades in colleges, seminaries, and teaching, I’m picking up a microphone.
Somebody ought to say something about the nests a lot of people walk around: God, Energy, Technology, and Money. The quiet doesn’t make them go away. Most of them are grey swans: something 80% likely to 100% inevitable. These events happen all the time; they are not rare. A lot of people do plan for them, many don’t, and some aren’t obvious enough that people even know to look. Some, like AI remaining here to stay and nuclear or power shortages, are known and sometimes planned around, though we could be better prepared. Others are less clearly understood and can have equal or greater impact.
So the show is called The Hornet’s Nest. Not to make people mad. To make things better. Yes, I’ll get stung. I’d rather get stung for something useful than stay comfortable for nothing.

My son Gentry lives at the Conway Human Development Center. Half of every Grey Swan membership goes right away to the cause each member chooses. If you don’t pick one, it goes to the Conway HDC. So every episode you hear as a member is also a little help for people the world tends to overlook.
